But that's nowhere near the whole story - Yamaha EMX-series Powered Mixers offer a range of features that let you mix, process, and deliver your sound with maximum quality and creative control ... and, of course, that unrivalled Yamaha sound.

Great Yamaha Sound

Yamaha is a leader in the field of professional live sound for a very good reason: we deliver the sound and performance that the pros demand. The EMX-series powered mixers are no exception. They're built at the same standards of sonic performance and rugged reliability that makes Yamaha the first choice for live sound applications from schools to stadiums around the globe.

One-knob Compression on Mono Channels(EMX312SC & EMX512SC)

All four monaural mic/line channels on the EMX312SC and EMX512SC feature built-in compressors that can help to bring vocals to the front of the mix, give your guitars extra smoothness and presence, deliver more authoritative bass sound, and generally refine your mixes in a multitude of ways. These one-knob compressors are simple to use, too. There's no need to juggle multiple attack, threshold, makeup gain, and other controls - just set the COMP control for the amount of compression you need.

SPX Digital Effects

The EMX212S, EMX312SC, and EMX512SC all feature a selection of 16 top-quality Yamaha SPX effects - including reverb, echo, chorus, flanger, phaser, and even distortion - that can add the final touch to your live presentation. Yamaha SPX digital effects are widely recognized as being some of the finest available, and the effects provided in the EMX mixers live up to that reputation.

Built-in Graphic EQ

Graphic equalizers are provided for both the main and monitor channels, so you can effectively control feedback or tailor the sound to match the room and program material.

Stand-by Mode

When you're done with a set simply engage the stand-by mode to mute all mono channels while leaving the 2-track inputs active for background music playback while you're taking your break.

12 Inputs

All three mixers in this series offer a total of 12 input channels - four for monaural microphone (incl. Phantom Power) or line input, plus four pairs that can function either as monaural microphone inputs or stereo line inputs - providing you with a versatile mix of input capabilities for a wide range of applications. If you need only microphone inputs you can use up to eight mic channels. Or if, for example, you want to play recorded background music during breaks (that's one stereo channel), and you have a keyboard player with a stereo-output keyboard (that's one more stereo channel), you still have six mic/line inputs. If you use all four stereo pairs to handle stereo line sources you have four channels available for mono mic or line input. This is a very versatile system that can adapt to your needs.

High Power For Main and Monitor Speakers

These powered mixers certainly don't skimp on power. From the EMX212S with 200 watts per channel to the EMX512SC with a solid 500 watts per channel, there's a power configuration to suit any application and venue. All models also feature a power mode switch that lets you use the two power channels as a stereo amplifier, or you can use one of the channels for the main speaker(s) and the other to drive monitors with a separate monitor mix set up via the channel MONITOR controls.

Yamaha Speaker Processing

Yamaha Club-series speakers are fine performers in their own right, but with Yamaha Speaker Processing you get extra-smooth highs and enhanced low-frequency output.

Durable, Lightweight Design

The EMX powered mixers offer the ideal combination of outstanding sound performance and easy handling. They're lightweight — only 10 kilograms (22lbs.) — and feature conveniently located handles for maximum carrying comfort. They're also built tough to withstand the rigors of use on the road.

Serious Live Sound Capability Plus Innovative Digital Features

The EMX5016CF delivers the convenience of an integrated powered mixer with input capacity, flexible features, and solid sound that critical live applications demand. It is remarkably compact and portable for a live sound system with this much capability. And thanks to leading Yamaha digital technology, the EMX5016CF also includes a number of innovations that make it easier than ever to achieve top-class sound in just about any venue. An impressive power output of 500 watts per channel means it can handle fairly large audiences, indoors or out. The EMX5016CF goes considerably beyond the standard definition of "powered mixer," entering the realm of serious sound reinforcement.

Versatile 16-Input Configuration Adapts to Varied Source Requirements

The EMX5016CF has a total of 16 input channels – eight for monaural microphone or line input plus four stereo pairs. The stereo channel pairs can function either as monaural microphone inputs or stereo line inputs. This system gives you extra microphone inputs if your sources are mostly microphones, or if you need to handle more stereo sources, the EMX5016CF will comfortably handle four pairs in addition to eight mono mic or line inputs.

Advanced Channel EQ

3-band EQ is available on all input channels, but extra versatility is provided on the eight mono channels with mid-frequency sweep controls. The mid EQ center frequency can be continuously swept from 250 Hz through 5 kHz so you can precisely pinpoint frequencies in the critical midrange.

Ample I/O for Expansion and Integration

All you need to create a powerful, high-performance live sound system is the EMX5016CF, a pair of speakers or two, and your sources. But it does feature a range of inputs and outputs that allow it to be expanded with external gear or integrated into larger systems. Insert patch points on the mono input channels, for example, let you add outboard signal processing to individual input channels. And although you have all the monitor power and effects you're likely to need built in, external AUX and EFFECT sends allow you to route the mixer's signals to external signal processing and/or monitor systems as required. Stereo out, stereo sub-out, and record outputs are also provided.

One-knob Compression On Mono Channels

The EMX5016CF features compressors on all monaural microphone/line channels that can help to make vocals ride the mix better, give you that smooth compressed guitar sound, deliver more punchy bass, and generally refine your mixes in a multitude of ways. These unique one-knob compressors are surprisingly simple to use. There are no multiple attack, threshold, makeup gain, and other controls – just set the COMP control to the amount of compression you need.

9-band Digital Graphic EQ with Presets & Memory

This advanced digital 9-band stereo graphic equalizer goes way beyond conventional analog types with a refined control interface, instant-recall presets, and user memory locations. It also works with the console's innovative Frequency Response Correction system (see below) for unprecedented response-shaping control. Of course you can manually adjust each band as required from scratch, but you can also use one of the presets – VOCAL, DANCE, or SPEECH – as a starting point and edit from there. You also have three user memories into which you can store your own EQ curves for instant recall whenever needed.

FRC (Frequency Response Correction) System

Setting a live sound system's output equalizer to optimally match room response is normally a complicated process requiring noise generators, calibrated microphones, real-time analyzers, and a great deal of time and experience. The EMX5016CF handles the entire process automatically, using either pink noise or a recorded music source you supply. To precisely match the system's response to the room you're in all you need to do is set up a microphone in an appropriate location, connect it to channel 1, and press the MEASURE/CORRECT once to make the measurement, and then again to automatically set the graphic equalizer for optimized response. The EQ setting can then be stored in one of the user memories for later recall if needed.

Automatic Feedback Suppression

Although the graphic equalizer can be used for feedback control, the EMX5016CF provides a Feedback Suppressor system that is dedicated to the job. The Feedback Suppressor works by detecting feedback frequencies on the stereo bus and applying precise notch filters to eliminate the feedback. The Feedback Suppressor has an automatic mode that automatically keeps track of and attenuates feedback frequencies for you, and a sensitive manual mode that lets you pinpoint and attenuate feedback points one by one.

Multi-band "Maximizer"

The EMX5016CF "Maximizer" is an advanced 3-band compressor that can be applied to the stereo bus for a more punchy "up-front" overall sound. Simply press the MAXIMIZE switch to instantly give the mix more presence and impact without sacrificing musical subtlety.

Dual Yamaha SPX Effect Processors

The EMX5016CF includes not one but two top-performance Yamaha SPX digital effect processors built in! You might only need ambience effects such as reverb and delay for live sound applications – and the EMX5016CF includes some of the finest reverb and delay effects available – but if you need other effects as well they're right at your fingertips, and you can use two different effects simultaneously. Each effect processor offers a selection of 16 top-quality effects including reverb, echo, chorus, flanger, phaser, and even distortion, with editable parameters that allow you to customize each effect.

Dual AUX Sends

AUX 1 and AUX 2 send controls with pre/post fader switching adjust the level of the channel signal sent to the auxiliary buses for monitoring or external effects send. The availability of two AUX sends provides considerable flexibility for effect and monitor routing. You could, for example, use the channel EFFECT controls to control send level to the internal SPX effect processor while using AUX 2 to feed an external effects unit, and AUX 1 to feed a stage monitor system.

YAMAHA MG102C MIXER
YAMAHA MG102C MIXER
detailsButton
The MG102C is an ideal mixer for basic music production or live sound applications that require high sound quality from a relatively small number of input sources. While remarkably compact and lightweight, no compromises have been made in sound quality. It even has built-in channel compressors that, although easy to operate, can significantly enhance the quality of your mixes. An optional adaptor allows mounting on a microphone stand for easy access and convenient positioning on stage.

Features

Small but Sophisticated

Many real-world mixing applications only involve a few channels, so a small mixer is the obvious choice. But no matter how simple the setup, you'll always want first-rate audio quality and processing capability. The MG102C is the ideal choice for small music production or live sound applications, offering sonic quality that will satisfy the most critical listener, surprising flexibility and ease-of-use, and some advanced features you normally wouldn't find in this type of compact mixer. So whether you need a compact main mixer, or a secondary utility mixer for a larger application, don't overlook this performance-packed model.

Flexible 8 or 10 Input Channel Configurations

The MG102C has a total of 10 input channels comprised of two mono microphone/line channels and four stereo line channels. Two of the stereo channel can be used as mono microphone inputs, providing a total of four microphone inputs when necessary. Gain trim covers a wide -60dB ~ -16dB range for microphone input, and -34dB ~ +10dB for line input.

Comprehensive, Easy-access Connector Panel

Top-mounted input and output connectors make setting up and re-patching your system quick and easy. Featuring high-quality NeutrikTM balanced XLR connectors on both mono microphone/line channels and two of the stereo channels. The XLR-equipped stereo channels can accept mono microphone input either via the XLR or phone jack connectors. The remaining stereo channel on the MG82CX provide phone jack and pin jack connectors for compatibility with a wide range of sources. The two mono input channels also feature insert I/O connectors that let you patch external signal processing gear into those channels as required. Separate pin-jack 2TR inputs are provided to accept the output from a CD player or similar stereo source.

Four High-performance Microphone Preamplifiers with Switchable Phantom Power

Microphone preamplifiers are critical in any mixer, and a performance bottleneck in many. That's why pros often spend thousands of dollars on just a single channel of microphone pre-amplification. The microphone preamps built into the MG mixers inherit technology from Yamaha's top-line professional consoles, and have been painstakingly designed to deliver superior sonic performance with any dynamic or condenser microphone. All four microphone preamps also feature switchable phantom power so you can take advantage of the natural, extended response of high quality condenser microphones. A single switch turns phantom power on or off for all four channels.

Built-in Channel Compressors

This advanced feature can be a tremendous advantage in achieving great vocal sound. It can also be used to refine the sound of bass, guitar, and other sources. You won't find built-in channel compression on too many other mixers in this class, but in the MG102C you have Yamaha's innovative one-knob compression feature on mono input channels 1 and 2. Conventional audio compressors with their threshold, ratio, knee, makeup gain and other controls can be complex and time-consuming to set appropriately for a given source. Yamaha's one-knob compressor eliminates the need for an engineering degree with a single control that lets you simply dial in the amount of compression you want.

3-band Channel EQ and High-pass Filter

Building a truly useful, musical-sounding channel equalizer is no easy task, but Yamaha has decades of experience in building pro consoles to draw on, and you reap the benefits in the MG-series mixers. On the MG102C, Channels 1, 2, 3/4, and 5/6 feature full 3-band equalizers with LOW, MID, and HIGH controls, while channel 7/8 and 9/10 have 2-band EQ for smooth equalization of stereo sources.

Aux Send

The MG102C has AUX send controls on all channels that adjust the level of the signal sent from the corresponding channel to the output in the master section. This signal can also be sent to external effect processors via the AUX SEND jack. A RETURN control in the master section adjusts the level of the signal returned from external processors via the RETURN jacks.

Stereo, Control Room, Monitor, and Headphone Outputs

Located above the mixer's master controls, on the convenient easy-access connector panel, are the main stereo output connectors, phone-jack monitor output connectors, pin-jack recording outputs, and a stereo headphone jack. They may be compact, but these mixers offer plenty of connectivity for a wide range of applications.

Bright Meters for Visual Level Monitoring

Accurate visual level monitoring can help you achieve maximum signal-to-noise ratio without distortion. The MG mixer's bright, easy-to-read multi-segment LED meters make it easy to control system levels for optimum overall performance.

Lightweight, Portable Design

The MG102C weighs only 1.5 kilograms (3.3 pounds). That's small enough to pop into your briefcase or shoulder bag and easily take with you anywhere. But the performance you'll get at the studio, club, outdoors, or anywhere you choose to use these fine mixers is far from lightweight.

Optional Mic Stand Mount

The MG102C can be mounted on a microphone stand for optimal positioning and easy access using the optional BMS-10A Mic Stand Adaptor. This can be particularly handy when using the mixer as sub-mixer for drums or as a cue box in recording situations.

Easy Operation

All switches, controls, and displays have been designed and laid out for intuitive access and smooth, reliable operation with positive tactile and visual feedback.

Six High-performance Microphone Preamplifiers with Switchable Phantom Power

The microphone preamplifiers in any mixer are critical to its overall performance. The microphone preamps built into the MG mixers inherit technology from Yamaha's top-line professional consoles, and have been painstakingly designed to deliver superior sonic performance with any dynamic or condenser microphone. All six microphone preamps feature switchable phantom power so you can take advantage of the natural, extended response of high-quality condenser microphones. A single switch turns phantom power on or off for all microphone channels.

Built-in Channel Compressors

Built-in channel dynamics is usually only found on high-end (and very expensive) consoles. The MG124C features Yamaha's innovative one-knob compression feature on mono input channels 1 through 4. This advanced feature can be a tremendous advantage in achieving great vocal sound. It can also be used to refine the sound of bass, guitar, and other sources.

Yamaha has decades of experience in building truly useful, musical equalization into successful pro consoles, and the channel equalizers in MG-series mixers carry on without compromise. Channels 1, 2, 3, 4, 5/6, and 7/8 feature full 3-band equalizers with LOW, MID, and HIGH controls, while 9/10 and 11/12 have 2-band EQ for smooth equalization of stereo sources.

Four Buses (Stereo and Group)

In addition to the main stereo bus the MG124C features a stereo group bus and outputs that can be used for convenient channel grouping. Assign switches for the stereo and group buses are located next to each channel fader.

Illuminated Channel ON Switches

All input channels feature illuminated channel ON switches chat can be used to individually add or remove channels from the mix without having to change the positions of the channel faders.

Effect/Aux Sends

The MG124C has dual AUX send controls for each channel, one switchable for pre- or post-fader operation, and one fixed for prefader send. Master send controls are also provided, as are RETURN level controls for the AUX and STEREO busses.

Stereo, Control Room, Monitor, and Headphone Outputs

Located above the mixer's master controls, on the convenient easy-access connector panel, are the main stereo output connectors, phone-jack monitor output connectors, pin-jack recording outputs, and a stereo headphone jack. These versatile mixers offer plenty of connectivity for a wide range of applications.

Bright 12-segment Meters for Visual Level Monitoring

Accurate visual level monitoring can help you achieve maximum signal-to-noise ratio without distortion. The MG mixer's bright, easy-to-read 12-segment LED meters make it easy to control system levels for optimum overall performance.

Smooth 60-millimeter Faders

Channel and master level control is accomplished via reliable, high-performance 60-millimeter linear faders that provide smooth, noise-free operation. An important advantage of linear faders is that they provide a direct visual indication of relative level settings.

Lightweight, Portable Design

In spite of the fact that they offer 12 channels, four buses, and a wealth of advanced features, the MG124C is small and light enough (only 2.9 kilograms, 6.4 pounds) to be tucked under an arm and set up just about anywhere. A low-pass filter with a roll-off frequency that can be varied from 80 to 120Hz is provided on the mono output for convenient connection and optimum matching with a subwoofer.

12-segment Level Meters

Four high-visibility 12-segment meters are switchable to allow precise visual monitoring of levels on the main stereo bus, the four group buses, the stereo 2-track input, the PFL (Pre-Fader Listen) bus, or the AFL (After-Fader Listen) bus.

High-performance Digital Effect Processors Built In

The MG32/14FX contains a powerful pair of Yamaha digital signal processors that provide a useful selection of 16 advanced digital effects. Effect programs include reverb, delay, pitch change chorus, phaser, voice doubler, and distortion. The effects include editable parameters so they can be customized as required, and processor "B" even has a TAP switch for real-time tap-tempo entry. With these top-performance effect processors built in, you won’t have to transport and set up racks of external effects to create your sound.

Illuminated Switches for High Visibility

The channel ON switches, PFL (Pre-Fader Listen) switches and phantom power switches are original Yamaha illuminated types, so it's easy to visually check vital console settings.

Talkback for Convenient Communication

A talkback microphone input is provided for easy, efficient communication between the sound engineer and musicians and staff in live-sound applications, during setup, rehearsal, and the actual performance.

Intuitive Controls and High Reliability

The design of the faders, rotary controls and switches used on the MG mixers, as well as the way they are laid out, allow easy operation and visual confirmation of settings.

MG mixers are lighter and smaller than ever while offering some innovative new features. The MG82CX is an ideal mixer for basic music production or live sound applications that require high sound quality from a relatively small number of input sources. The MG82CX is remarkably compact and lightweight, but no compromises have been made in sound quality. They even have built-in channel compressors that, although easy to operate, can significantly enhance the quality of your mixes. An optional adaptor allows these mixers to be mounted on a microphone stand for easy access and convenient positioning on stage. The MG82CX features top-quality SPX digital effects built in, so you won't need any extra equipment for many applications.

Features

Small but Sophisticated

Many real-world mixing applications only involve a few channels, so a small mixer is the obvious choice. But no matter how simple the setup, you'll always want first-rate audio quality and processing capability. The MG82CX is the ideal choice for small music production or live sound applications, offering sonic quality that will satisfy the most critical listener, surprising flexibility and ease-of-use, and some advanced features you normally wouldn't find in this type of compact mixer. So whether you need a compact main mixer, or a secondary utility mixer for a larger application, don't overlook this performance-packed model.

Flexible 8 or 10 Input Channel Configurations

The MG82CX has a total of 8 input channels comprised of two mono microphone/line channels and three stereo line channels.

You won't find built-in channel compression on too many other mixers in this class, but in the MG82CX you have Yamaha's innovative one-knob compression feature on mono input channels 1 and 2.

Channels 1, 2, 3/4, and 5/6 feature full 3-band equalizers with LOW, MID, and HIGH controls, while channel 7/8 has 2-band EQ for smooth equalization of stereo sources.

Effect Sends

The MG82CX has EFFECT send controls on all channels that adjust the level of the signal sent from the corresponding channel to the mixer's internal multi-effect system. The same signal can also be sent to external effect processors via the mixer's EFFECT SEND jack.

The MG82CX weighs only 1.6 kilograms (3.5 pounds). That's small enough to pop into your briefcase or shoulder bag and easily take with you anywhere. But the performance you'll get at the studio, club, outdoors, or anywhere you choose to use these fine mixers is far from lightweight.

Optional Mic Stand Mount

The MG82CX can be mounted on a microphone stand for optimal positioning and easy access using the optional BMS-10A Mic Stand Adaptor. This can be particularly handy when using the mixer as sub-mixer for drums or as a cue box in recording situations.

Easy Operation

All switches, controls, and displays have been designed and laid out for intuitive access and smooth, reliable operation with positive tactile and visual feedback.

MG82CX Built-in SPX Effects

There's an astonishing amount of SPX signal processing power packed into the MG82CX's diminutive chassis. It incorporates a versatile digital multi-effect processor that provides a range of reverb, delay, modulation, and distortion programs you can use to refine and define your sound. Each of the 16 effect programs has a number of editable parameters as well as effect on/off switching capability and return level control. If you need to keep both hands free to play an instrument or perform other operations, an optional footswitch can be connected to the mixer's effect footswitch jack for convenient on/off switching.
