Sheldon Curry has breathed new life into this standard 19th century Advent text: "Prepare the way, O Zion, your Christ is drawing near!" Infusing it with an African feel, Curry opens it with a layered texture of percussion and, in the accompaniment, open fifths. The choir joins in a texture that is mostly 2-part mixed and punctuated with sparkling counterpoint. This is an Advent anthem with a delightful difference!
