Epitaph, Charles Mingus's epic work encompassing myriad musical forms and over twenty movements is finally available, more than four decades after Mingus's first attempt to introduce it to the world in 1962. This is the first time a jazz composition of such magnitude has been published. It is presented in this edition as he left it: a summary work, a portrait for all time of his life in music.
