CONCERTO SPIRITUOSO No. 1 is a set of variations on two themes: 1. B-A-C-H; 2. CHRIST LAG IN TODESBANDEN (Christ Jesus Lay in Death's Strong Bands). Commissioned by and dedicated to Robert K. Webb, Gary Sigurdson, and the University of Wisconsin, Whitewater Flute Choir. Also available for 12 Saxophones, Harpsichord (and/or Electric Piano), Voice (titled CONCERTO SPIRITUOSO No.2).
