Franz Schubert's Marche Militaire No. 1, originally one of three marches for piano duet, has been edited by Percy Hall for string orchestra. This spirited work retains the original key of D Major and would make an excellent contest or festival work. This is a great opportunity for students to perform standard orchestra repertoire at an accessible level.
