Emily Dickinson’s poem, Slant of Light, captured the attention of the composer for its striking relevance during the Covid-19 pandemic for its quiet lonliness in a time where many were isolated. This setting of her work was first imagined with singers distanced from one another, and to honor the hollowness and quiet expansiveness of the poem.
