The Yamaha EX Tenor Saxophone
Improved versions of that proven classic the Custom 875, the EX saxes are the result of decades of painstaking research and trials involving some of the world’s greatest saxophonists. They feature a smooth response and a deep, refined sound full of rich colors. They also feature a solid feel with quick and nimble action, a wide dynamic range, stunning projection, and an authoritative tone with a beautifully defined total core. You will find the depth and smoothness of their sound to be simply incredible. These horns are at home in any kind of music due to their tonal flexibility. The size and shape of the key buttons have been changed for a better ‘feel’, while the new Custom necks enhance tonal resonance and give a quicker, more comfortable response. The saxes feature a two-point bell brace for better efficiency, so you don’t have to work as hard to sound great.
YTS-875EX Neck
Custom E1 neck adds richness and fullness to the sound.
YTS-875EX Neck receiver
The nickel silver custom style neck receiver provides a condensed tone and good response with a high rigidity. It has the flexibility to choose between the necks designed for the Custom Z and Custom EX Yamaha saxophones (sold separately).
Octave key with a ball joint to realize utmost smoothness
The octave key has a unique new ball joint design for smoother, quicker action. The new neck receiver improves the tonal resonance.
875 shape with custom brass
875 series adopts an innovative body shape which is unique to Yamaha. This produces a moderate resistance and solid tone. The material is optimized for custom models.
Ergonomic key layout (875/875EX)
Key layout is designed to fit to humans’ hands. This helps players concentrate on their performance without feeling stress. 875 series adopts a newly designed key layout to realize even better playability.

Mother of pearl key button

One-piece bell
Crafsmen shape the bell from a sheet of brass with a hammer. This adds a unity to the body and makes the intonation in middle to lower range smoother. It also has a solid tone.

The Custom EX saxophone features a new ‘lily’ engraving design which is hand engraved on every instrument. Custom EX logo is the proof of craftmanship.
