Yamaha CF4 – 6’4″ Premium Acoustic Grand Piano

Today, we are going to be taking a look at Yamaha’s premium CF series grand piano. In particular, we’re going to be taking a look at Yamaha’s CF4 6’4 grand piano. The CF series from Yamaha is arguably the best piano series in the world today. The CF series has 21st-century modern engineering and design. From the years 1990 to 2010, Yamaha underwent a research and development process to develop the best piano in the world. The result is the CF series. It is truly a work of art.
Here are some features of the CF4. Yamaha craftsmen hand-select the top 1% of the wood from around the world at Yamaha’s Kitami Mill in Hokkaido, Japan. The inherent resonance of these woods, from European spruce in the soundboard and ribs to mahogany and maple in the rim, help give CF pianos their huge well-rounded sound and extraordinary range of colors.
Handcrafted by master builders, the CF soundboards, ribs, back posts, and rims are crafted and assembled by hand in Yamaha’s concert piano workshop in Kitagawa, Japan to ensure that nothing gets in the way of the clear rich vibrations of the wood.
Every part of an instrument matters. But the finest concert grand piano is greater than the sum of its individual parts. Yamaha master craftsmen understand how each part works in harmony to contribute to the character of the entire instrument. This holistic philosophy helps create a piano that lets the artist express every emotion.
The CF series has a hand-molded sand-cast frame. Every CF frame is built by hand to Yamaha’s exacting specifications at their Iwata Forge in Japan. Yamaha craftsmen spent nearly two decades from the years 1990 to 2010 experimenting with the shapes, sizes, and materials of the hammers so they perform in perfect harmony with every part of the CF piano.
Yamaha artisans painstakingly wind pure copper by hand to adjust the balance and tension of each bass string to the exacting standards and sound profile of every CF piano. You will hear the attention to detail in absolutely every note.
Each CF piano is meticulously voiced, regulated, and tuned by master technicians at Yamaha’s concert piano workshop to bring out the nuanced colors, harmonics, and resonance of this superb instrument.
The finish of the CF is applied by hand one layer at a time and buffed to Yamaha’s stringent specifications using traditional methods. A semi-gloss finish is applied to the top board to reduce distracting reflections from stage lights.
