The Yamaha Clavinova CLP-725 is an entry-level Clavinova, but has the features that matter!  With its authentic sound and feel, this instrument is a great choice for both beginners and intermediate players looking for a versatile and high-quality instrument with an entry-level price point.

One of the standout features of the CLP-725 is its sound quality. Yamaha has long been known for producing some of the most realistic and authentic-sounding digital pianos on the market, and the CLP-725 is no exception. The instrument features a range of high-quality grand piano sounds, as well as a variety of other instrument sounds such as electric pianos, organs, and strings. The default piano sample is from the Yamaha CFX concert grand piano, which was redesigned in 2010. Learn more about Yamaha’s CFX concert grand piano here and learn how it has impacted Yamaha’s entire line of pianos! The CLP-725 also has a built-in speaker system that delivers rich, full sound, making it ideal for both solo practice and performance.

Another standout feature of the CLP-725 is its key action. The instrument features Yamaha’s GrandTouch key action, which is designed to mimic the feel of a real grand piano. The keys are weighted to provide a more authentic feel and respond naturally to the player’s touch.  Highly absorbent synthetic-ivory white keys and synthetic-ebony black keys prevent slipping, even during extended play, and the feel is like those of a grand piano!

In addition to its high-quality sound and key action, the CLP-725 also offers a range of other useful features. One of these is the built-in metronome, which is a useful tool for helping players keep time and improve their rhythm. The CLP-725 also has 4 types of reverb, as well as the ability to split the keyboard and layer sounds. You can connect the instrument to a Mac/PC through the included USB-to-Host port, which allows it to be used with a range of external devices and software.

How about recording?  The CLP-725 has a built-in two-track recorder that can be used as a practice tool (perhaps recording the left-hand part separately, then practicing the right hand with the recording) or as a basic music-creation tool with which to sketch original song ideas.  It also has 50 preset songs (built-in) from the “50 Classical Music Masterpieces” book that you can play along with as you master this great literature.

As an entry-level keyboard, this wonderful instrument is surprisingly versatile with a flexible metronome, 10 instrument sounds, and touch-sensitivity control. Available in Black, Rosewood, or Polished ebony finishes, it also comes with a matching bench and keyboard cover. If you’re looking for a digital piano with a bit more technology (but not too much!) you may want to learn about the CLP-725’s bigger siblings–the CLP-735 and CLP-745, which come with more sound samples, better speakers, AND an upgraded action on the CLP-745.

Overall, the Yamaha Clavinova CLP-725 is a high-quality digital piano that offers a range of features for players of all skill levels. Its authentic sound and feel, as well as its versatility and range of useful features, makes it a great choice for anyone looking for a digital piano that can meet their musical needs at an entry-level price point.
