Made for music schools and conservatories, Academy benches pair a solid steel frame with an easy pneumatic lever. They are completely silent, so nothing distracts from practice, and they stand up to years of daily use.

Tap a width to see it drawn to scale under a full 88-key keyboard. A 20" to 26" seat suits most solo players, 30" gives room to move on a grand, and the 43" Marsella seats two for duets and lessons.
Dashed outlines show every Hidrau width. The gold band marks the keys the seat spans.
Young students, small rooms and shorter players.
Ten-button capitoné seats, a favorite for the concert grand.
The right fit for most solo players at an upright or digital piano.
Room to slide for wide repertoire, and the teaching-studio favorite on a grand.
Two players side by side, for four-hand repertoire and lessons.
Vinyl or genuine leather
Every Academy bench has a matte black steel frame. Choose durable black vinyl for busy studios, or hand-finished genuine black leather for a softer, richer feel. Ask us about velvet and other colors by special order.
Hand-crafted for the concert grand
The Washington and Tokyo are made by hand from European beech, with ten-button capitoné upholstery, high-density padding, rubber levelers on every leg and a sturdy, silent concert mechanism. The Tokyo adds the patented Hidrau Tech lift.
Ten-button capitoné upholstery with a discreet skirt that hides the mechanism.
Hidrau’s flagship: ten-button capitoné, a covered mechanism and the patented Tech lift.
In 1975 Antonio Romera opened a small workshop in Algemeí, Valencia, with one goal: to build the best piano benches in the world. Today, still family-run, Hidrau supplies opera houses, concert halls and conservatories worldwide. It is the only bench maker with its own patented technology, and the exclusive bench maker for Schimmel pianos.
