This African Proverb from the Democratic Republic of the Congo offers words of soothing and nurturing from an older sibling to a younger sibling. The piano accompaniment offers moments of support but also provides plenty of room for independent singing. Optional percussion, included in the score, provides a steady pulse, adding to the sense of comfort offered in the text and the choral parts.
