With a flowing piano and Celtic-style flute obligato, this tender setting of the Robert Burns poem is a song of quiet power and deep emotion. Based on a Scottish melody, the work is beautifully voiced for mixed and treble voices. Rich harmonic writing fills the piece and offers moments for solo opportunities.
