Trio And Quartet Albums - First Quartet Album For Strings (Two Violins, Viola & Cello)

You want to introduce your string players to string quartets early, and this first quartet album is the perfect starting place. Compiled by legendary educational editors Harvey Whistler and Herman Hummel, these 20 pieces by the masters progress at just the right pace, starting at a very easy technical level (while the students get used to playing as an ensemble) and gradually becoming more challenging as the students progress. Plus it's on many of the state contest lists! Includes: Air de Concert (Haydn) · Allegretto Theme from Op. 16 (Beethoven) · Allegro Moderato from String Quartet No. 2 (Pleyel) · Andante Maestoso from String Quartet No. 1 (Pleyel) · Danse Allemande (Beethoven) · Der Schmetterling (The Butterfly) (Schumann) · German Dance (Haydn) · Divertimento in D (Excerpts) (Beethoven) · Divertissement (Mozart) · Idylle (Dancla) · L'Alouette (The Lark) (Mendelssohn) · Menuet de Concert (Haydn) · Menuet Elegante (Mozart) · Rondino (Pleyel) · Rondo from Sonata, Op. 137 No. 1 (Schubert) · Theme from Allegretto Grazioso (Beethoven) · Trauermarsch (Mendelssohn) · Wiegenlied (Cradle Song) (Schumann)
