A mysterious opening with optional narration begins this wonderful anthem from the pen of Pepper Choplin. A quiet yearning is followed by increasing excitement for the coming of the Christ child as voices and accompaniment reflect a mood of anticipation. The final strains burst into an exhilarating choral exhortation of "Emmanuel. Come!" (From the cantata "Lead Me Back to Bethlehem," SATB 65/2029L; SAB 65/2030L.)
