French organist and composer Felix-Alexandre Guilmant (1837-1911), served as Professor of Organ at the Paris Conservatoire and served as mentor to a young Marcel Dupre. While accomplished and prolific, Guilmant wrote almost exclusively for the organ, including: "Pieces dans differents styles" (18 books); "L'organiste pratique" (12 books); Eighteen "Pieces Nouvelles;" and "L'Organiste liturgique" (10 books).
