A new English translation by Gracia Grindal of the cherished Swedish carols, “Shine over Land and Sea” (Gläns över sjö och strand) by Ivar Widéen and “Yule, Yule, Sparkling Yule!” (Jul, jul, strålande jul!) by Gustav Nordqvist has sparked this new edition of the carols, edited by Andrew Bruhn. Both pieces are written for SATB a cappella voices, using classic strophic harmonies that work equally well for small or large ensembles or even a mixed quartet.
