Alas, sometimes things might be said or done that would compromise not only progress, but partnerships, and even friendships as well. Such is the case with the Composers and the Lyricists this particular holiday season when, in an innocent exchange, a cavalier comment or two about which aspect of songwriting is more important leads to unpleasant disagreement and discord. Not to mention a total lack of harmony! How can they possibly continue to work together under these circumstances?
Thank goodness reason prevails when the Maestro, who is scheduled to conduct Fa La La Land’s latest, but as-of-yet elusive song, intervenes. She reminds both groups of the overall good of their work together and its importance for the season. But more than that, she shares a message of peace, forgiveness, love, and friendship - especially at this time of year! Both groups not only realize the folly of their negative behavior, they also realize that in order to provide a song that’s positive and uplifting, they should lead by example. Apologies and reconciliations abound and the groups are back at it, happily writing the big song together, as they should be.
