“Aer Enim” was originally conceived as the final movement to a set of three pieces based on Hildegard chants. The other movements are “O Vis Aeternitatis” and “O Rubor Sanguinis”. I have sung many pieces by Hildegard and have always been amazed by her agile, flowing and hypnotic chant lines.
