This upbeat a cappella setting of the spiritual, WEARY LAND, is grounded in the male chorus rhythmic repetition of the opening text. Male or female soloists may sing the verses over the double bass inspired bass line. The spiritual intensifies through a thickening vocal texture and modulation until the final coda and rousing cadence. Part of the Sacred Music from Lenoir-Rhyne Series.
