Another wonderful original by Patty Darling, "The Next Chapter" is a fresh, contemporary easy-to-play chart. Starting with a light rhythmic feel, this great tune settles into a happening rock groove which features a catchy melody over written out rhythm parts. Patty brings out some creative writing in a big band setting with some vocalized "oohs" and "ahhs" by the horn players. Neat textures for sure. There is solo space for alto saxophone, and this piece will add interest to your concert program. 5-4-4-5
