Dance of the Day by Nathan Dufresne is a fast-moving and spirited four-mallet vibraphone solo meant to reflect the intense yet graceful movement of choreographed dancers. Like dance, there is a wide range of motions - or, in musical terms, articulations - explored throughout the piece. Dance of the Day encourages performers to explore the full range of articulation possibilities on the vibraphone, from staccato to legato.
