Shelley Bares (Flute / Piano / Voice) Since August 2016

Shelley grew up in Grand Forks and earned a bachelor’s degree in music education and vocal pedagogy from UND in 1976. She completed her master’s degree at the University of St. Thomas in 2001. Her undergraduate degree focused on Instrumental music (flute) and masters degree in voice and choral music. In her 40+ years of teaching, she has taught flute, voice and piano. Shelley has been teaching at Poppler’s since 2016. She has played flute and piccolo in the Grand Forks City Band for over 30 years and has been the director of the Senior Choir at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in East Grand Forks for 18years. Outside of her music life, Shelley enjoys gardening, spending time with her kids and grandkids, and being at the lake. In college, Shelley spent two summers studying abroad in Norway!
