This composition is a programmatic tone poem and is written in five sections. The first section depicts twin sisters who as they grew could predict future events. The second section is based on Sibylla's theme. The townspeople looked down her gift and considered her a witch. The other sister Helena is represented in the third section. She was sent to a convent early on and thought of as a saint. The fourth section represents the turbulance both sisters had in their lives. The fifth section represents Helena rescueing her sister from prison. The composition is based on a novel by Ulrike Schweikert.
