"Annandale Chronicles" was written to depict events and scenes from the history and folklore of Annandale, MN. The "Great Train Wreck of 1922" and a visit to Al Capone's hideout on nearby Bungalow Island are represented in this arrangement. Challenging but logical woodwind lines (often doubled with mallet parts) are contrasted with a choral section in the middle. Brass and plenty of percussion add power and pulse.
