The purpose for writing these studies is to provide the student of mallet instruments with double-stop exercises that are progressive musically as well as technically. This enables students of all levels of proficiency to employ double stops in their technical studies. Musical devices and terms are usually mentioned when they appear for the first time, but are not explained since these studies are meant to be used as supplement to a method book for mallet instruments.
