The sensitive artistry of Penny Rodriguez is ever-apparent in these reflective settings of eight hymn tunes and two original compositions. The focus is on personal peace and prayer, and culminates, appropriately enough, with a piano rendition of John Stainer's Seven-fold Amen. Especially for those quiet moments of inner-most meditation within a worship service (durations included) and/or for the pianist personally, these gentle gems perfectly meld the texts with the musical settings. This offering will surely touch "near to the heart" of anyone who hears or performs these serene vignettes.
