Zebulon Highben makes Psalm 46 come to life with musical text-painting that supports the dramatic shifts in mood within the psalm. A lyrical unison line sings of the trials of the world and then shifts to dynamic choral exclamations of “nations in uproar.” The constancy of God as our refuge is represented in a reoccurring antiphon which can include the assembly. Ideal for Reformation Sunday and during Lent.
