The title Trash Cancerto: An Uncanny Work in a Classical Style is a musical pun. In a literal sense, the work is a concerto, or piece for one or more solo instruments with accompaniment. In a humorous sense, the solo instruments happen to be waste containers. This work is dedicated to Mr. Richard Laue, who served as a school custodian for 42 years in Itasca, Illinois.
