Our east-to-west journey begins at the North Pole where, as Santa makes his last-minute preparations, our stowaway sneaks aboard the sleigh. With a crack of the whip, they're off! As the reindeer get their bearings, Up on the Housetop is where they'll likely end up many times this evening. A gong note cues an Asian take on Jolly Old St. Nicholas. Then we arrive in Arabia with O Little Town of Bethlehem, placed in a decidedly desertlike atmosphere. Israel is signaled by a Klezmer-like interpretation of We Three Kings. Our journey continues into Russia, with Tchaikovsky's Russian Dance from The Nutcracker. Octoberfest turns into Decemberfest with an oompah rendition of the German tune O Tannenbaum.
