Glad Adoration uses the German hymn tune Lobe den Herren (more commonly known as Praise to the Lord, the Almighty) as its musical foundation. The piece opens with a very bold and dramatic statement depicting awesome power and majesty. It then moves into a more reflective and serene style with hints of various motifs from the hymn appearing at various places.
